From an idea to a website I can maintain
I’ve learned to build websites with Codex and Claude Code, keep the source in GitHub and publish through Cloudflare Pages. The useful part is being able to come back and change them.
Terrace Archive began with Claude Code, then moved to Codex. I also created the Other People’s Leisure website with Codex. These were real projects with photographs, existing content and people who needed to use the result.
I’ve learned to give the coding tool a clear brief, work through a preview and check what it has built. I decide how the site should feel, what it needs to do and whether the result matches the intention. The AI helps me turn those decisions into code.
GitHub holds the project files and their history. That meant I could change AI tools without starting Terrace Archive again. Cloudflare Pages is where the OPL site is hosted. Learning how those parts fit together has made the websites feel like something I can keep working on.
The OPL rebuild replaced our Wix website. My notes record the production launch in August 2026, including checks of the pages, links and mobile navigation. Building the website with AI is separate from the music: I do not use AI to compose or produce OPL’s music.
How the pieces fit together
- My brief: the purpose, content and how the website should feel.
- Codex or Claude Code: code, revisions and checks as we work through the preview.
- GitHub: the project files and a history of changes.
- Cloudflare Pages: the website people can visit after the changes are published.
