Finding the right way to use Hermes

I’ve spent time finding a comfortable way to use Hermes away from the terminal. I’ve tried Telegram, Matrix and Discord for chatting with it, as well as Hermes Desktop. Telegram is the route I use for quick conversations and OPL admin.

In August, I worked through a problem with Desktop’s Bot Mode layout. The useful fix was to use its Layout Editor and keep the Cronjobs pane in place. The web interface was also restarted and returned to its expected sign-in route.

Hermes Dashboard is where I manually edit settings such as model routing. It serves a different purpose from the chat interfaces. In August, I tested separate dashboards for Neebs and Spud, completed the browser sign-ins myself and checked that access required signing in.

That period also included a restricted Buzz trial for Spud. Trying different ways into the system helped me think about what I needed in each place: a conversation, a view of the work, or a setting I wanted to change myself.
