Giving Spud a place in the OPL conversation

We use Spud, our Hermes assistant, from Telegram for the administration around Other People’s Leisure. I do not use AI to write, compose or produce our music.

I wanted the shared room to be useful for us without mixing it with my personal assistant setup. Personal and OPL files were separated, and I designed the group behaviour around addressing Spud when we wanted its help.

The August setup showed why I needed to test it in the actual room. A reply in a private chat worked, but ordinary group mentions behaved differently under the initial Telegram privacy setting. That became a specific configuration issue to work through, rather than assuming a connected bot would behave the same everywhere.

Telegram is now a place where we use those OPL workflows. The interesting part for me has been fitting the assistant around how we communicate, while keeping it in the admin side of the project.
