Teaching ChatGPT my expenses routine
Preparing my expenses sheets used to take me around 90 minutes. Once ChatGPT had learned the repeatable workflow, I found it could do that work in around ten.
Expenses are a good example of the kind of admin I wanted help with: a familiar task that kept taking a chunk of my time. I worked with ChatGPT on the sequence so it could carry out the routine through computer use.
My comparison is roughly 90 minutes when I prepared the sheets manually and around ten minutes after ChatGPT had learned the workflow. Those are my own approximate timings for this task. They don’t include the time spent teaching it the process, and they aren’t a general benchmark for computer use.
This is the sort of work I want to document more clearly: the steps, the corrections needed along the way and what I check at the end. A public demonstration can use fictional information so the process is visible without sharing private records.
