Outlook, To Do and a dependable reminder · Tested workflow

Finding a way back to flagged emails

I helped someone who was flagging emails for later but still carrying them around in her head. The useful change came from connecting tools she already had.

A flag was easy to add, but it didn’t give her a dependable moment to return to the email. I explored the available tools and tested a route through Outlook, Microsoft To Do and My Day, with reminders on her iPhone and Apple Watch.

That gave the flagged message a clearer path back to her attention. The setup was tested and she liked the flow. I don’t have a measured time saving or evidence of wider use to claim for it.

It belongs in my AI journal because it came from the same practical exploration. Looking closely at what someone needed led me to a useful change in the software already available.

What I take from it

It helped to understand what happened after an email was flagged, rather than assume that adding another tool would solve the problem.
