An idea from a run, saved in my pocket
A pocket-sized voice capture device, integrated with Hermes Agent. When an idea comes to me on a run, I press a button and speak. The transcript and summary end up in Obsidian.
I run two or three times a week, and it’s often when ideas turn up. I’d tried Voice Notes, Otter and Apple’s Voice Memos, but I kept wanting a way to bring those thoughts back into my Obsidian vault.
Now I carry a small StickS3 in my pocket. I press the button on the front and speak into it. A full transcript and an AI-generated summary are saved in Pocket Inbox, a note in the Neebs folder of my vault. I can return to my original words as well as the shorter version.
Obsidian also holds the long-term notes Neebs, my personal assistant built on Hermes Agent, uses. That gives the capture somewhere useful to land. The device connects through Wi-Fi or my phone’s hotspot, so it needs a connection; I don’t treat it as an offline recorder.

What I take from it
A physical button turned out to be a good fit for a very ordinary problem: keeping a thought without getting absorbed in my phone.
