Sending the OPL newsletter from Telegram
I connected MailerLite’s API to our OPL Hermes assistant so I can write and send newsletters from Telegram. On 18 September, I tested it and then used it for our full mailing list.
I’d already been using Spud, our Hermes assistant, for OPL admin from Telegram. The next piece was the newsletter. I connected the MailerLite API to the OPL setup so I could write and send an email from the same conversation.
On 18 September 2026, I ran a test and it worked as expected. I then sent the finished newsletter to everyone on our mailing list through the same workflow. That worked too.
The September newsletter brought together our new single, the new website and three live dates. For me, the useful part is being able to handle another piece of band admin from Telegram, using Hermes to work with MailerLite. AI is helping with the administration around OPL, not creating our music.

What came out of it
A successful test, followed by a newsletter sent to the full OPL mailing list. This workflow has now been used for a real campaign.
